  Little Bones he did creep Up to the door to trick or treat His mask was loose Oops, put it on quick Don’t want to scare anyone I don’t want to spook   I don’t want to fright I want to have fun on Halloween night. The door opened wide A man peeped outside With a bowl full of treats And a smile wide. Trick-or-treat Bones squeaked. “Ahhh! A real skeleton!” The man cried. “No, I’m a black cat. See,” he straightened his mask. “Well, ha-happy ha-Halloween” the man shivered. “Thanks.” Bones smiled. Little Bones the skeleton Loves his candy sweets.

"You’re too chicken to do it,” Sean sneered. The harvest moon shone bright on the two boys.     “I am not.” Jack paused. “Give it here.”   “Remember, you gotta leave it on long enough for me to take lots of good pictures.” Jack rolled his eyes and sighed, “Yeah, Yeah, I know.   Just hand it here.   I can’t believe I lost a stupid bet to you.” Sean picked up a giant pumpkin, “Here you go.” The hole was just big enough for a head to squeeze through. 50 Precious Words- I Can Do Hard Things

I Can Do Hard Things On Monday Lizzie did a cartwheel.  On Tuesday I tried and failed. On Wednesday I asked for help.  On Thursday I practiced all afternoon.  On Friday I did a perfect donkey kick. I'm halfway there. On Saturday Lizzie helped me. On Sunday I did it. I did a perfect cartwheel.

A Valentine's Day Mystery On Valentine's day when I got to school  I saw a card on my desk- it looked cool. I wonder who left it. Who could it be? I have a Valentine made just for me. Couldn't be Skunk- it smells fragrant and sweet Couldn't be Dog, the handwriting's too neat. Couldn't be Cat- glitter scares her Maybe Badger- here is some fur. Its grey and its black  and glued to the back. Happy Valentine's day to you it said, From your special friend. Written all in red. I can't wait to find out who it can be The wait is practically killing me.  My classmates come in one by one From outside play and having fun Who could be my special friend? Halloween Potion

Halloween Potion  by Jaclyn Crawford Luna dreams of becoming human, Not a wicked witch. Tonight, is her only chance to change. A Halloween potion will help. She drops in cobwebs and fishbones, Toad sighs, he likes Witch Luna, She cannot make a drastic switch. As the brew changes color; he hops away. Luna makes popcorn and calls to Toad. Her trick works when he sighs. Toad’s breath, the final ingredient. Done before Halloween was over. She drinks--changes fast, “We’ll always be friends Toad.” Together they make rope out of the popcorn and cobwebs. Luna is still Luna and Toad is still her friend.

Little Acorn

Little Acorn Acorn was playing in the soft green grass when something bumped her head. Looking up, Acorn noticed that there were leaves falling from every tree.  Red, orange, yellow and green leaves gently fell.  While she watched, another bonked her nose.  Acorn felt afraid.  “The leaves are falling! The leaves are falling,” She screamed, as she ran home. Mother Squirrel sat on the porch, sipping tea.  “Mother, Mother, the leaves are falling.” Acorn yelled, flying up the steps. “Yes, I know it's Autumn.” Mother said, blowing at her brew. “Go play. Soon the weather will turn cold.” Acorn skipped back down the path.  As she stepped off onto the grass, she heard an unusual sound.  Crunch Crunch. “What is that sound?” There was only one explanation, “The ground is breaking, the ground is breaking!” Acorn screamed, running back towards home.
