Romeo's True Love- Valentiny

Romeo’s True Love

Juliet has the most beautiful-

Cookie.

It is shaped like a heart-

Be still my heart.

----------------

Romeo, Romeo-
What are you looking at?

--------------

Run!

Cannot talk to her, she is a girl.

Even for a beautiful cookie.

-------------

What a strange boy,

Aren’t they all?

-------------

Peeking out from teacher’s desk,

Romeo watches Juliet open her cards.

Maybe if I ask, she will share, he thought.

All the other cookies are boring and plain-

Unlike Juliet’s

It is frosted to perfection.

A cookie by any other name would taste as sweet.

------------------

What does that boy want, Juliet thought?

She saw him staring from behind the desk.

Maybe he wants to be my Valentine,

Maybe he is too shy.

Juliet walks up to Romeo and hands him a dainty red Valentine.

“This is for you,” she blushed.

-----------

Now is my time to be brave- Romeo told himself.

“Thank you, my lady.

Will you be my Valentine?

So that we may share your perfect cookie?”

---------

“Aw, I’ll share a sweet with my sweet.”

She carefully breaks the cookie in half.

------------

Romeo greedily gobbles his goodie and sighs,

“Parting is such sweet sorrow.”

  1. Why do I think Romeo was more interested in the cookie? 😊 Nothing like perfectly frosted perfection to instill bravery!
